Configure Your Form

Set required fields, validation, messages, notifications, and other behavior before sharing your form.

Review Your Form Settings

Open your form in the builder and review both the form-wide settings and the settings for individual fields. Form-wide options control how the form behaves after submission; field settings control the information each question accepts.

Choose Which Fields Are Required

Mark a field as required only when you need its answer to process the submission. Required fields prevent respondents from continuing until they provide a value, so keep optional questions optional to make the form easier to complete.

Validate Responses

Use a field's validation settings to accept the kind of response you expect. For example, use an email field for email addresses and add limits when a text or number field needs a minimum or maximum value. Keep validation rules specific and show a clear message explaining how to correct an invalid answer.

Test each rule with both a valid and invalid response so you know respondents can understand and resolve validation errors.

Set Messages and Notifications

Review the confirmation shown after a successful submission and replace generic wording with a useful next step, such as when to expect a reply. Configure submission notifications for the teammates who need to follow up, and check any respondent confirmation email before enabling it.

Test the Complete Flow

Preview the form, submit a test response, and verify that required fields, validation messages, confirmation text, and notifications all behave as expected. Make adjustments before publishing so the live experience is ready for respondents.
